The Honorable Hope Andrade

Texas Secretary of State

Appointed by Governor Rick Perry, Esperanza "Hope" Andrade is Texas' 107th Secretary of State. Secretary Andrade, a successful entrepreneur and leader in the San Antonio business community for more than three decades, serves as Texas' chief elections officer, chief international protocol officer and the Governor's chief liaison on border and Mexican affairs.

Previously, Andrade served as chair of the Texas Transportation Commission. In recognition of her service to Texas, Secretary Andrade has received a number of accolades including the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's Lifetime Achievement Award, the Hope for Children Esperanza Award, and the San Antonio Leadership Hall of Fame Award. Additionally she has been named the Woman of the Year by the Houston Chapter of the Women's Transportation Seminar, Mother of the Year by Avance and Small Business Advocate of the Year by the Small Business Administration.

Phil Wilson
Luminant

Phil Wilson is senior vice president of public affairs for Luminant, a competitive power generation subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings Corp., formerly TXU Corp. Luminant's activities include plant and mine operations, wholesale marketing and trading, and construction and development of new power plants. Wilson has oversight of the company's community relations, communications, regulatory and government affairs efforts.

Prior to joining Luminant, Wilson was the Texas secretary of state. In that position, he was the chief elections officer and the chief international protocol officer for Texas, maintaining business and public filings and acting as the governor's chief liaison on border and Mexico
affairs. He oversaw the state's economic development and job creation initiatives on behalf of Governor Rick Perry. As secretary, Wilson also served as the governor's official designee on the $200 million Emerging Technology Fund and the $185 million Texas Enterprise Fund. Under his leadership, Texas leveraged more than $13 billion in capital investment to create more than 51,000 new jobs.

TechBA-Austin, a technology business accelerator created by the United States-Mexico Foundation for Science, helps innovative and established technology companies to expand into international markets and create alliances with U.S. and global companies.

ICInstitute's Global Commercialization Group, in conjunction with the United States - Mexico Foundation for Science (FUMEC), operates a technology business accelerator at The University of Texas at Austin. 

Since 2005, almost 200 companies have received remote training. Of that group, more than 70 companies have participated in the accelerator and generated more than $50M in revenue for participating companies.
